Vodou, The West African Spiritual Tradition
I traveled to West Africa to get to know the religion of Vodou (Vodun). We participated in ecstatic ceremonies, accompanied by rhythmic music, wild dancing, singing, and offering sacrifices. We watched spirits that have entered in believers who were clothed with colorful robes, directing their movements and speaking from their throats, connecting the visible world to the invisible. I visited Ghana, Togo, and Benin in December 2025 and January 2026.
