                   Excitement in the Indian Himalaya
I experienced a tumult of emotions among the broad Rung family. I was moved by the family reunion, the close relationship between the Rungs, and the way they accepted me into their family. I attended the tribal Kangdali Festival, celebrated once in twelve years in the Chaundas Valley in the Indian Himalaya. In addition I enjoyed the landscape and the nestled Himalayan villages while trekking in the Nanda Devi Sanctuary. I traveled in Uttarakhand state in India during September and October 2011.
